Type host: Ovis nigromontana pavlovskyi Pospelova-Shtrom, 1935 , Haemaphysalis

Pospelova-Shtrom, M.V. (1935) On the taxonomy of ticks of the genus Haemaphysalis C.l. Koch. Trudy Tadzhikskogo Bazy Akademiya Nauk SSSR, 5, 205–217. [in Russian, NAMRU-3 translation 53]

Type depository: ZIAC: holotype (male) and paratypes (males) ( Filippova 2008)

Type locality: Togul , Tajikistan

Type host: not stated

Comments: Camicas et al. (1998), Kolonin (2009) and others considered Haemaphysalis pavlovskyi a synonym of Haemaphysalis doenitzi , but Haemaphysalis pavlovskyi is valid in Filippova (1997, 2008), Guglielmone et al. (2009, 2014, 2020) and here. Filippova (2008) included a nymph as paratype of Haemaphysalis pavlovsky , but only the male was originally described.
