Type locality: not stated
Type host: Fratercula arctica
Current status: a synonym of Ixodes rothschildi and its original name ( Keirans & Brewster 1981). The current status of Ixodes percavatus rothschildi , as Ixodes rothschildi , was established by Zumpt (1952).
Comments: Zumpt (1952) raised Ixodes rothschildi to species status, but the specimen that was the basis for his decision was later found to be the holotype of Ixodes diomedeae .
