Type locality: “Lumasse,” Guijá District , Province of Gaza, Mozambique
Type host: Paraxerus cepapi auriventris
Current status: a name incertae sedis ( Guglielmone & Nava 2014).
Comments: Santos Dias (1950) did not mention a type depository for Rhipicephalus piresi , but Walker et al. (2000) stated that the holotype had been deposited in the VLM.
