Current status: a synonym of Amblyomma breviscutatum ( Santos Dias 1956 a, 1958a, Camicas et al. 1998, Guglielmone & Nava 2014), although Keirans & Hillyard (2001) listed Amblyomma quasicyprium as a synonym of Amblyomma cyprium .
Comments: the locality label is considered to be incorrect, following Santos Dias (1956a).
