Type localities: Nyika , Malawi or Zambia; Amani, Nguela and Usambara, Tanzania; Bulwe, Zambia.

Type hosts: Bdeogale sp. , dog, Cephalophus parvus , Herpestes sp. , Potomochoerus sp. and wild boar

Current status: a synonym of Ixodes cumulatimpunctatus and its original name ( Camicas et al. 1998). The current status of Ixodes rasus cumulatimpunctatus , as Ixodes cumulatimpunctatus , was provided by Lariviéri et al. (1957).
