Type host: unknown

Current status: a synonym of Hyalomma glabrum and its original name, as discussed in Apanaskevich & Horak (2006). The current status of Hyalomma rufipes glabrum , as Hyalomma glabrum , was established first by Theiler (1956) and definitively by Apanaskevich & Horak (2006).

Comments: syntypes or paratypes are from laboratory-reared material based on adult specimens collected in the South African Karoo ( Apanaskevich & Horak 2006) .
