Type locality: Izmir, Turkey
Type host: domestic goat
Current status: a synonym of Ixodes gibbosus and its original name, as discussed in Keirans & Brewster (1981). The current status of Ixodes ricinus gibbosus , as Ixodes gibbosus , was established by Schulze (1927).
