Type host: camel
Current status: a synonym of Hyalomma scupense (Apanaskevich et al. 2010) .
Comments: Moritz & Fischer (1981) and Filippova (2008) did not list type specimens of Hyalomma detritum rubrum as deposited in the ZMB and ZIAC, respectively, although Schulze (1930a) stated that type specimens had been deposited there.
