Type host: cattle
Current status: a synonym of Hyalomma scupense (Apanaskevich et al. 2010) .
Comments: Apanaskevich et al. (2010) found two males in the Schulze Collection, which is at the USNTC, whose locality data match that of Hyalomma detritum dardanicum and that may be part of a syntype series of this taxon .
