dentipalpis Warburton & Nuttall, 1909 View in CoL , Haemaphysalis
Warburton, C. & Nuttall, G.H.F. (1909) On new species of Ixodidae , with a note on abnormalities observed in ticks. Parasitology, 2, 57–76.
Type depositories: BMNH: lectotype (male) and a paralectotype (male); LSTMH, USNTC: paralectotypes (males) ( Hoogstraal & Trapido 1966a, who designated the lectotype, Keirans & Hillyard 2001, Apanaskevich 2023)
Type locality: Malaysia
Type host: Paradoxorus sp.
Current status: Haemaphysalis dentipalpis was treated as a synonym of Haemaphysalis asiatica until this species was reinstated by Apanaskevich (2023).
Comments: no type specimens of Haemaphysalis dentipalpis are recognized by Keirans & Clifford (1984) as deposited in the USNTC. However, Keirans & Hillyard (2001) stated that a male paralectotype was sent to the USNTC, and Apanaskevich (2023) found that male deposited there. Nuttall & Warburton (1909) listed the type host of Haemaphysalis dentipalpis as Paradoxorus sp?
