Type depository: BMNH: a lectotype (female) and paralectotypes (nymphs and larvae) were designated by Keirans & Brewster (1981)
Type locality: Mount Lehman , British Columbia, Canada
Type host: Lepus americanus
Current status: a synonym of Ixodes spinipalpis and its original name ( Camicas et al. 1998). The current status of Ixodes dentatus spinipalpis , as Ixodes spinipalpis , was established by Hubbard (1941).
