Type locality: Chisos Mountains , Big Bend National Park, Texas, USA

Type host: Elaphe subocularis

Current status: a synonym of Robertsicus elaphensis and its original name, as discussed in Barker & Burger (2018). The current status of Aponomma elaphensis , as Robertsicus elaphensis , was also provided by these authors.
