Type depository: MNHN: syntypes (males, females, nymphs and larvae)
Type localities: Tokyo, Saga and Sendai , Japan
Type hosts: dog, horse, cow and hare
Comments: Nuttall & Warburton (1915) stated that specimens used to describe Haemaphysalis flava were deposited in the ENV, but Neumann (1897) listed them as held in the MNHN. Yamaguti et al. (1971) stated that specimens of Haemaphysalis campanulata were included among the syntypes of Haemaphysalis flava .
