Current status: a name incertae sedis, as discussed in Guglielmone et al. (2021), but previously recognized as a synonym of Amblyomma dissimile .
Comments: Koch (1844) classified as a female the specimen of Ixodes humanus , as did Moritz & Fischer (1981) in their catalog of types in the ZMB, but the specimen is a nymph.
