Type depositories: BMNH: a lectotype (female) and paralectotypes (females) were designated by Keirans & Brewster (1981) ; ENV and ZMB: paralectotypes (females) ( Nuttall & Warburton 1915, as “types”)

Type locality: Belgachia , Kolkata, State of West Bengal, India

Type host: Himalayan zebu

Current status: a synonym of Alloceraea aponommoides and its original name. The current status of Haemaphysalis inermis aponommoides , as Alloceraea aponommoides , was established by Kelava et al. (2024).
