Type depositories: MZB: holotype (male) and paratypes (males, females and nymphs) ; BMNH? and USNTC: paratypes (males, females and nymphs)

Type locality: Kuala Navusu , Malakosa, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia

Type host: Rattus dominator

Comments: in their list of BMNH type specimens, Keirans & Hillyard (2001) did not record the presence of paratypes of Haemaphysalis kadarsani .
