Type depository: BMNH: a lectotype (male) and paralectotypes (a female and a nymph) were designated by Keirans & Brewster (1981)
Type locality: Raffles Museum, Singapore, where the type host was captive
Type host: Laticauda colubrina
Current status: a synonym of Amblyomma nitidum ( Guglielmone & Nava 2014) .
