Type host: Dasyurus albopunctatus View in CoL aciculifer Warburton, 1913 , Haemaphysalis

Type depository: BMNH: a lectotype (male) and a paralectotype (female) were designated by Keirans & Brewster (1981) .
Type locality: northeast of the coast of Lake Edward , Uganda
Type host: Kobus kob thomasi
Comments: Hoogstraal & El Kammah (1972) named the lectotype of Haemaphysalis aciculifer as holotype and the paralectotype as allotype ( Keirans & Brewster 1981).
