Neumann, L.G. (1899) Révision de la famille des ixodidés (3 e mémoire). Mémoires de la Société Zoologique de France, 12, 107–294.
Type depository: USNTC: a neotype (female) was designated by Robbins & Keirans (1989)
Type locality: Pattee Canyon , Missoula County, Montana, USA
Type host: nest of Sorex sp.
Comments: a neotype was designated because the female used by Neumann (1899) to describe Ixodes angustus was, in fact, a specimen of Ixodes woodi ( Robbins & Keirans 1989, 1992).
The female neotype was obtained by rearing a nymph collected in a nest of Sorex sp.
