Type host: unknown
Current status: a synonym of Hyalomma aegyptium and its original name, as listed in Camicas et al. (1998). The current status of Acarus aegyptius , as Hyalomma aegyptium , was established by Koch (1844).
Comments: Wallin (1991) discussed the status of many type specimens in the UUZM, but not in the case of Acarus aegyptius .
