Type depositories: BMNH and GM: syntypes (females) ( Keirans & Hillyard 2001)
Type localities: Carin Cheba and Mooleyit, Myanmar
Type host: Ursus torquatus and Sus cristatus ( Supino 1897)
Comments: Wassef & Hoogstraal (1984) stated that Supino described the male and female of Dermacentor auratus , and Keirans & Hillyard (2001) listed a male syntype deposited in the BMNH, but Supino (1897) described the female of Dermacentor auratus , not the male. Keirans & Hillyard (2001) named the type hosts as Ursus tibetanus and Sus scrofa .
