Type locality: Tezo , 6 miles west of Kifku, Arabuka Forest, Kenya
Type host: Bdeogale crassicauda
Comments: Camicas et al. (1998) and Kolonin (2009) did not accept Ixodes arabukiensis as valid. IR visited the FMNH in 2024 and the holotype was not found there.
