Type host: Hippopotamus amphibius

Current status: a synonym of Cosmiomma hippopotamensis ( Guglielmone & Nava 2014) .

Comments: Keirans & Hillyard (2001) did not list the types of Ixodes bimaculatus as being held in the BMNH .
