Type locality: Las Majadas , Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico
Type host: unidentified iguana
Current status: a synonym of Amblyomma scutatum , as listed in Camicas et al. (1998).
Comments. Vargas & Hoffmann (1952) listed the holotype as having been deposited in the ISET , but KLC, IR and RGR visited the MCZ in 2024 and the holotype is found in the MCZ .
