Type locality: Queensland, Australia

Type host: Hystrix sp. [sic]

Current status: a synonym of Bothriocroton concolor and its original name, as discussed in Klompen et al. (2002), who also established its current status.

Comments: Neumann (1899) stated that the type specimen was labeled Ixodes coxalis .
