Type locality: West Africa
Type host: Manis multiscutata
Current status: a synonym of Amblyomma compressum and its original name, as listed in Camicas et al. (1998). The current status of Adenopleura compressum , as Amblyomma compressum , was provided by Schulze (1941) and not by Neumann (1901), as stated in Guglielmone & Nava (2014) and Guglielmone et al. (2017).
Comments: Theiler (1962) stated that the type specimens have been lost.
