Subgenus Cacoplistes s. str.
Type species: Cachoplistus brunnerianus Saussure, 1877
As per literature, the nominotypic subgenus reportedly comprises three species including: Cacoplistes ( Cacoplistes) brunneranius Saussure, 1877 , Cacoplistes ( Cacoplistes) indicus (Chopard, 1935) , and Cacoplistes ( Cacoplistes) proximus Gorochov, 2003 . The type species was described on the basis of a single female being quite similar to the other two species. The morphological variations and differences in genitalic structure between the species Cacoplistes ( Cacoplistes) indicus and Cacoplistes ( Cacoplistes) proximus and likewise, the phenotypic plasticity notable with Cacoplistes ( Cacoplistes) brunneranius have been described by Gorochov (2003).
