BRAZIL: MINAS GERAIS. Several specimens were sampled from bat guano in caves ( Correa et al., 2022). Correa et al. (2022) found this species to have been the most abundant scarab species in their survey of Scarabaeoidea in Brazilian caves. They argued that this species may also be truly associated with caves, and suggested that the species may be classified as a troglophile. Necessarily it also seems to be bat-guanophilic.

the species was captured inside the cave or in the vicinity of the cave.

False record of a trogid species being associated with bat guano
