Phthiarella privata Brailovsky and Barrera , new species

Diagnosis. Phthiarella privata sp. nov. can be recognized by the rostral segments II–III yellow; the abdominal sternite IV metallic bluish green with only pleural margin yellow; and dorsal abdominal segments III–V orange and VI–VII black. This differs from P. decorata (Stål) which has the rostral segments II–III dark orange; the abdominal sternite IV yellowish orange; and dorsal abdominal segments III–VI orange, with segment VII having the anterior half orange and the posterior half black with metallic bluish reflections.
Description. Holotype male. Body length 19.12. Head: length 2.35; width across eyes 2.25; interocular distance 1.22; interocellar distance 0.57; preocular distance 1.37; length antennal segments: I 4.16, II, 4.49, III, 3.20, IV, 6.48; pronotum: total length 3.05; maximum width across humeral angles 5.55; scutellum: length 2.10; width 2.22.
Dorsal coloration. Head metallic green with short yellow spot behind each ocelli; antennal segments I–II dark brown scattered with bluish green reflections, III–IV dark brown; pronotum with collar, calli, anterolateral borders and humeral angles black with metallic green reflections; anterior lobe with wide yellowish orange fascia not reaching the anterolateral borders; posterior lobe black without metallic green reflections; scutellum black; clavus black scattered with bluish reflections; corium black, scattered with bluish reflections and with complete wide yellow transverse fascia touching the apex of claval commissure and reaching the costal border; hemelytral membrane black; connexival segments III-VII black with upper border metallic green; dorsal abdominal segments III-V orange and VI-VII black. Ventral coloration. Head metallic bluish green with short yellow spot at each side of midline; rostral segment I bluish green, II–III yellow and IV dark brown; pro-, meso-, and metasternum yellow; pro-, meso-, and metapleura metallic bluish green; inner border of meso-acetabulae and inner margin of meta-acetabulae yellow; anterior and posterior lobe of metathoracic peritreme yellow; evaporative area black; coxae, and trochanter yellow; femora metallic bluish green with basal third yellowish orange; tibiae dark brown scattered with bluish green reflections; tarsi dark brown; abdominal sternite III yellow, IV metallic bluish green with yellow spot at pleural abdominal margin and abdominal sterna V-VII and genital capsule metallic bluish green; pleural margin of abdominal sterna III–IV yellow and V–VII metallic bluish green.
Structure. Head. Rostrum reaching the middle third of abdominal segment IV. Thorax. Humeral angles with short acute spine directed outward. Genital capsule. Posteroventral edge sinuate, lateral angles rounded, slightly folded inward ( Fig. 61). Parameres. Figs. 80‒81.
Female. Unknown.
Etymology. From the Latin “ privatus-a”, meaning alone, individual.
Type locality. Peru, Junin, Tarmaand Province .
