Lectotype (designated here): — VIETNAM. Hanoi: Forêts du Mont-Bavi, près de Thu-Phap , 11 September 1886, B.Balansa 4290 ( P04060157 photo! isolectotypes P04060155, P04060156, P04060158, photos!) .
Distribution:—The species is endemic to Vietnam reported from ( Hanoi City Area, provinces Quang Ninh, Nghe An, Khanh Hoa, and also from Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, Ninh Binh, and Thanh Hoa (fide Vu 2018).
Ecology and phenology:—It grows in evergreen broad-leaved submontane forests on various rocks at elevations of about 1000 m a.s.l. Flowers in August–September.
Conservation status:—Due to broad distribution of this species found in various habitat conditions its conservation status may be provisionally estimated as Least Concerns following criteria od IUCN (2023).
Note:—The specimen ( P04060157 ) is chosen as the lectotype among the four available authentic specimens ( P04060157 , P04060155 , P04060156 , and P04060158 ) from the same gathering solely indicated in the protologue ( Balansa 4290) because it has well-developed leaves, prepared flattened flowers, fruits, and analytical authentic drawings of floral details.
