Stems and leaves glabrescent to persistently sericeous; stems usually more than 25 cm. Leaf-lobes not fleshy, keeled beneath, thinly lanate when young. Panicle usually wide. Capitula shortly pedunculate. Involucre 1 -5- 2-5 mm, rarely hairy. 2n = 36. Almost throughout the range of the species.
