European distribution: Albania, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom ( Sammet et al. 2016; Christophoryová & Jablonski 2018; Christophoryová et al. 2023; WPC 2024).
Notes: Christophoryová et al. (2023) used an integrated approach to the taxonomy of Lamprochernes species in Europe. Based on the results of molecular, karyological, and morphometric data, individuals from Bratislava were reidentified ( Christophoryová et al. 2011b, 2017c; KaňuchovÁ et al. 2015; ČervenÁ et al. 2020b). Some nymphal stages were also reidentified ( KaňuchovÁ et al. 2015; Christophoryová et al. 2017c). The species L. chyzeri inhabits decomposing organic material, especially compost heaps ( KaňuchovÁ et al. 2015; Christophoryová et al. 2017 c, 2023; ČervenÁ et al. 2020b). It was also collected under tree bark ( Krumpál & Christophoryová 2007; Christophoryová et al. 2017b) and caught phoretically on a dipteran ( Christophoryová et al. 2011b). The new findings also confirm the known habitat preference of the species and add eight sampling sites of its occurrence in Bratislava .
