European distribution: Austria, Czechia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovakia ( ČervenÁ et al. 2020c; WPC 2024).

Notes: Ephippiochthonius fuscimanus is a typical epigean species inhabiting leaf litter and soil ( Krumpál & Kiefer 1981; Christophoryová 2013; Christophoryová et al. 2016; ČervenÁ et al. 2020b). Two adults were collected from a compost heap in the forest ( KaňuchovÁ et al. 2015). A random occurrence of one female was recorded from a Quercus hollow ( Christophoryová et al. 2017b). During the present research, 14 new locations were added to the species distribution, thus adjusting its habitat preferences.
