The two included specimens are a cluster in the RADseq tree. SNP data suggest the Genovesa cluster is related to those from Marchena and Pinta , but it is separated by SNP–PC3, has different dominant mitochondrial haplotypes and appears to be morphologically quite distinct from all other populations. We therefore consider the Genovesa cluster as a separate subspecies, A. c. nanus .
