Type species, by monotypy: Leiothorax kashmirensis Wittmer, 1978 . ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE )
Remarks. The generic name, Leiothorax Wittmer, 1978 , is preoccupied by the Late Triassic true shrimp genus Leiothorax Pinna, 1974 ( Malacostraca: Decapoda : Caridea). In order to correct the homonymy, Neoleiothorax nom. nov. (gender masculine) is proposed to replace Leiothorax Wittmer, 1978 . The new generic name is derived from the Latin prefix Neo-, meaning “new,” combined with the root -leiothorax, retained from the original spelling, referring to the replacement of Leiothorax . The four species previously placed in Leiothorax are hereby transferred as follows.
