Type material.

Holotype. Diagnostic description.

Propodeum areola well defined and bounded by carinae; T 1 parallel-sided and comparatively broad (T 1 length 1.2 × T 1 width at posterior margin); T 1 with some sculpture on posterior 0.5; T 2 transverse, its width at posterior margin> 3.0 × its central length; T 2 mostly sculptured, but with smooth areas centrally and laterally near posterior margin; hypopygium with several pleats; ovipositor sheath 0.6 × as long as metatibia; tegula and humeral complex brown; profemur entirely yellow; pro- and mesocoxae brown, metacoxa dark brown to black; most of metafemur (except for anterior 0.2 yellow) and most of metatibia (except for anterior 0.4 yellow) brown; body length: 2.30 mm; fore wing length: 2.60 mm. This species is distinctive because of its short ovipositor sheath, T 1 and T 2 sculpture and body size and color.

Named in honor of Mr. Steve Stroud of Escazu, Costa Rica and Maine, USA, in recognition of his steady and enthusiastic interest in, and support of, all the GDFCF and ACG activities as a member of the Board of Directors for the Guanacaste Dry Forest Conservation Fund in its integration with Area de Conservación Guanacaste.
