Ziminellia Nihei & de Carvalho, 2007: 523 View Cited Treatment . Replacement name for Dasysterna Zimin, 1951 View in CoL (preocc. Dasysterna Dejean, 1833 View in CoL ). Type species: Cyrtoneura simplex Loew, 1857 View in CoL . References: Nihei & de Carvalho, 2007: 523 View Cited Treatment (phylogeny, new status, nomen novum); Nihei & de Carvalho, 2009: 5, 20 (key, diagnosis).

Diagnosis. Prosternum setulose. Proepisternum bare. Three postpronotal setae nearly arranged in a straight line. Three katepisternal setae. Basal portion of stem-vein bare dorsally and setulose ventrally. Apical portion of stem-vein bare dorsally and ventrally. Vein R 1 bare, R 4+5 usually with setulae dorsally and ventrally. Vein M slightly bending anteriorly. Male mid femur without a dorsal preapical protuberance bearing modified hook-like setulae. Calcar strong. Abdomen usually black in ground color, with grayish pruinosity and dark median vitta. Sternite 1 covered with fine hairs. Male cerci with two pairs of processes in margin (inner lobe and outer lobe), inner lobe subulate, apical part sclerotized, outer lobe present differently semilunar, cerci without spines in internal surface.

Distribution. Australasian, Oriental and Palearctic.

Remarks. The five new combinations, namely, Z. sordidisquama (Stein, 1918) , Z. nigrisquama (Malloch, 1928) , Z. sinensis (Ôuchi, 1942) , Z. hainanensis (Ni, 1982) , and Z. suifenhensis (Ni, 1982) , were based on the phylogenetic and diagnostic characters provided by Nihei & de Carvalho (2007, p. 523) and Nihei & de Carvalho (2009, p. 20), respectively. Below we present the key to species and the new species descriptions. Redescriptions for the other eight species are available in the literature ( Pont 1973; Emden 1965; Ye et al. 1982; Hennig 1964; Shinonaga 2003; Fan 2008; Pamplona et al. 2016).
