Stomis collucens ( Fairmaire, 1888) View in CoL
Loc. typ.: China, Yunnan.
This species is the earliest described of this group and of the entire genus from China ( Holotype in Fig. 26 View FIGURES 25–28 ). It seems rather common in the Yulongshan area in north Yunnan, since I have seen several specimens collected in different moments by different expeditions.
Description. Habitus as in Fig. 10 View FIGURES 9–12 . The combination of characters allowing to distinguish this species are: length 10.1–12.3 mm; integuments metallic green; body rather convex; legs and antennae dark brown, of medium length; head broad, with mandibles almost as long as the rest of the head; eyes well-developed and convex; pronotum anteriorly wide, then markedly constricted and sinuate towards the base; basal angles almost square; elytra very broad, oval, widest almost in the middle, with striae well marked; shoulders rounded, without a tooth. Median lobe of aedeagus with apical portion almost as long as basal portion; in lateral view straight before apex, in dorsal view very broad and asymmetrical, without tooth but angulate on the left side ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 37–38 ). Ratios: El/Pl = 2.16; Ew/Pw = 1.47; El/Ew = 1.46.
Distribution. Yunnan, Yulongshan mountain range.
