Diagnosis of the genus: “pseudorostrum projecting anteriorly, slightly shorter in male; antenna 1geniculate between peduncle articles 1 and 2; antenna 2 of mature male unknown but in immature male brush of seta seen developing on anterior margin of peduncle articles 4 and 5; antenna 2 flagellum elongate in immature male; female with exopods on pereiopods 1–3; male with exopods on pereiopods 1–4; pereiopod 2 article 3 very short; uropod endopod distinctly 2-articulate; subadult male with (?) 0 or 1 pair of pleopods” ( Watling, 1991).
