Notes. Prior to the record in Colombia reported here, this species was known only from the type locality ( Bolivia: Santa Cruz Dept., San Esteban ) .

Bolarga quadrimaculata Linnavuori, 1955 shares with other species of Bolarga and Cruziella an aedeagus with an unpaired ventral process but does not possess the unique inner pygofer process present in the other Bolarga , and possesses a tuft of setae at the apex of the subgenital plate which is present in the other Bolarga and is not present in Cruziella . Further study is needed to determine the proper placement of this species, but for now it is retained in Bolarga .
