1 Forewing with white spots on clavus and between median and cubital veins. On Crataegus View in CoL or Pyrus View in CoL . ..... 2
– Forewing with white spots only on clavus; on Prunus spinosa View in CoL . ................................................................. 3
2 The white spot on clavus twice as long as wide and not touching claval suture. The second white spot, which extends across medial cell, is equally long on both sides ( Fig. 18 View Figs 18–21 ). Aedeagus with basal part less extended dorsoventrally ( Figs 20 View Figs 18–21 , 26 View Figs 22–31 ). Subgenital plates shorter, evenly wide over almost their entire length and bent at 45° angle ( Fig. 22 View Figs 22–31 ). On Pyrus amygdaliformis View in CoL . ....................... B. agapetomyrmices View in CoL sp. nov.
– The white spot on clavus approximately as long as wide and touching claval suture. The second white spot on cubital vein twice as long as on median vein ( Fig. 19 View Figs 18–21 ). Aedeagus with basal part more extended dorsoventrally ( Figs 21 View Figs 18–21 , 31 View Figs 22–31 ). Subgenital plates more elongate, broader in their central and distal part and bent in the middle at about 60° angle ( Fig. 27 View Figs 22–31 ). On Crataegus spp. ......... B. balcanicus ( Horváth, 1903) View in CoL
3 Forewing with three separate white spots on clavus; outer apical cell with distinct black triangle. Aedeagus with base slender, shorter than shaft. ................. ..................... B. larvatus (Herrich-Schäffer, 1835) View in CoL
