Notes

This species is commonly known as the Appalachian Springfly ( Stark et al. 2012), and is known from Quebec and the Canadian Maritime Provinces, southwest into the USA along the Appalachian Mountains to North Carolina ( Kondratieff 2004, Sandberg and Stewart 2005, DeWalt et al. 2024). Based on material examined at the CUIC, previous reports of Isogenoides doratus ( Frison, 1942) from New York are applicable to I. hansoni . In New York, adults were present from early April through early July (Fig. 38 View Figure 38 ) at elevations ranging from 100-1551 m asl (Fig. 39 View Figure 39 ). This species is more widely distributed and commonly collected compared to I. frontalis , with scattered records from Level III Ecoregions Northeastern Highlands (58), Northern Allegheny Plateau (60), North Central Appalachians (62), and Eastern Great Lakes Lowlands (83) (Fig. 40 f View Figure 40 f ).
