Type material examined. Holotype 3: Mazedonia / Skoplje / 9.VII.1926. // ancilloides / Typus // N. Baranov / Coll. 1960 // [red label] Type N° / 65731 / U.S. N.M // Sarcophaga / ancilloides / Baranov // HOLOTYPE / det / Sabrosky ( USNM) [ holotype in poor condition, very mouldy; terminalia missing, not found in USNM (see Sabrosky & Crosskey 1970)].
Identity. A species of Heteronychia , probably of the ancilla -group, with several setulae on dorsal surface of wing vein R1 and lacking median marginal setae on abdominal tergite 3.
