Monospecific genus advanced by Momen and Lundqvist (1996), synonymized with Lorryia by Kaźmierski (1998a: 293). The genus is listed by Silva et al. (2016: 34) but the type species, Q. sleipneri , was assigned to Quadrotydeus on page 34 and to Brachytydeus on page 25. The type species by original designation, Q. sleipneri , was assigned to Brachytydeus by Khaustov and Khaustov (2023: 268).
