Current name: Bixa orellana L. View in CoL ( Bixaceae ).

Note: Lescot (in Aubréville & Leroy, Fl. Cambodge Laos Vietnam 11: 101. 1970) and Villiers (in Aubréville & Leroy, Fl. Gabon 22: 62. 1973) indicated 674.1 (LINN) as type but this is a later addition to the herbarium and is not original material for the name. Bridson (in Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Bixaceae : 1. 1975) wrongly indicated the Clifford sheet as a syntype but as this statement implies no intention to indicate a single nomenclatural type (unlike the use of holotype, lectotype or neotype), this is not regarded as a correctable error.
