Mémoires de l’Institut scientifique de Madagascar, sér. B, 4: 138 (1952). — Lectotype (here designated): Perrier 2333 ( P![ P00573499 ]; iso-, P! [ P00573500 ]).
Perrier 2333 is here chosen as the lectotype of Diospyros filipes H.Perrier instead of the other syntypes ( Decary 5364, Decary 5622, Decary 5624, Decary 5730, Decary 5767) because it possesses mature fruit and male flowers.
