Transactions of the Cambridge Philosophical Society 12: 218 (1873) . — Lectotype (here designated): Boivin 2539b (P! [ P00573679 ]; iso-, P! [ P00573680 ]).
Boivin 2539b is here chosen as the lectotype of Diospyros vescoi Hiern instead of the other syntype ( Vesco s.n., 1850) because it possesses fully mature inflorescences. Diospyros vescoi Hiern var. mandrarensis H.Perrier is here excluded from Diospyros vescoi Hiern , placed in synonymy under Diospyros erythrosperma H.Perrier , and lectotypified above.
