Material examined. LAOS: Luang Namtha Province, Muang Long town , tropical forest, 20°57'25"N, 100°49'20"E, 11– 22.05.2016, V. Spitsyn leg. – 1♂ GoogleMaps ; Phongsaly Province, mountain tropical forest, 21°37'18"N, 101°57'06"E, 12– 13.08.2024, V. Spitsyn & E. Spitsyna leg. – 1♂ GoogleMaps .

Distribution in Laos. Luang Prabang Province ( Brosch et al. 1999; Racheli et al. 2008; Kishida et al. 2020), Xieng Khouang Province ( Kishida et al. 2020), Vientiane Province, Phongsaly Province ( Naumann et al. 2016), and Luang Namtha Province (this study).

Remarks. (1) The first record from Luang Namtha Province. (2) Previously, the species was incorrectly recorded as “ Archaeoattacus edwardsii (White, 1859) ” ( Brosch et al. 1999; Racheli et al. 2008; Kishida et al. 2020). (3) Naumann et al. (2016) provided Archaeoattacus malayanus ’ distribution map, where three black points indicate the records from northern Laos (Vientiane, Luang Prabang, and Phongsaly provinces), which actually belong to A. malayanus , whereas the black point indicating the records from southern Laos is given incorrectly and probably belongs to Archaeoattacus vietnamensis Naumann, Rougerie & Nässig, 2016 .
