Material examined. LAOS: Phongsaly Province, mountain tropical forest, 21°37'18"N, 101°57'06"E, 12– 13.08.2024, V. Spitsyn & E. Spitsyna leg. – 1♂ GoogleMaps .

Distribution in Laos. Luang Prabang Province ( Brosch et al. 1999; Kishida et al. 2020) and Phongsaly Province (this study).

Remarks. (1) The first record from Phongsaly Province. (2) Previously, the findings of Antheraea lampei Nässig & Holloway, 1989 from Laos were incorrectly identified as “ Antheraea roylei Moore, 1859 ” ( Brosch et al. 1999; Kishida et al. 2020; BOLD) or as “ Antheraea roylii ”. (3) A. lampei has a range from Sumatra (the type locality) and Borneo in the south to Myanmar, China (Yunnan Province), Laos, and Vietnam in the north. In Laos it can be confused with an externally very similar species, Antheraea vietnamensis Brechlin & Paukstadt, 2010 .
