Habitat. Shore with a sandy, muddy substrate, gravels, and boulders, intertidal.
Distribution. Wide distribution in the Indo-West
Pacific. Indonesia: Lombok, Sulawesi, and Halmahera.
Remarks. This is not a very common species, but when found, it congregates in large numbers under boulders. The bright yellow spots on the dark brown base color of the shield, chelipeds, and ambulatory legs easily separated this species from congeners.
